Oklahoma City Ice Hawks

Owners, Jake Runey and Johanna Glass, are excited to announce the new name moving forward. Effective Immediately, The Oklahoma City Ice Hawks, will operate as the premier Junior Hockey team in Oklahoma.

The Ice Hawks will continue under head coach, Josh Berge. Coach Berge recently signed a two year contract extension.

The Ice Hawks color scheme will remain the same. “We fully anticipated a name change when we couldn’t come to an agreement before last season. Most of our merchandise and our jerseys did not include the “Blazers” name” , said Jake Runey

The Oklahoma City Ice Hawks were previously known as the Oklahoma City Blazers. “We were able to purchase the team, but unfortunately the former professional team still controls the trademarks. We were unable to come to an agreement to purchase all assets. The owners of the trademarks hope a future professional team will come into Oklahoma City and purchase those to keep the Blazers name alive.”

Owners Jake & Johanna are excited about the future of the Ice Hawks and will continue to grow the sport in Oklahoma!
